It hasn't even gone into alpha testing yet. Beta testing will not happen until alpha testing is complete.

There has been no recent word on when alpha testing will begin.

Carl said it would begin this month, so it can't be too much longer.

Alpha testing will begin soon, beta testing doesn't have a date yet.

Alpha testing will start with a small select group, and then I will grow the group along the way.

I my self can't wait for LB5 simply because I have been using Run Basic. Run basic and the ways for interaction with GUI widget objects I believe is far superior. Also the way the files command is done is not bad at all.

I expect that there will be a bit of a learning curve for getting to know the new features and the better avenues for interacting with GUI widgets but with these new ways of using LB I think that learning the language from scratch will be easier.

Do you know something or just merrily talking about?
If you know something please tell.

I just checked this board - and thread Why Liberty BASIC v5.0 must happen is dated 01.12.2003 at 23:36:56 (*shock and awe*)
Of cource we have an example of Duke Nukem Forever with whopping 15-years development time... But during that time I grew too old to play it.

Another example is HL2 Episode 3. 5 years on development, no clues or comments by VALVe.

Still, i hope that LB5 will go in beta testing soon...

I believe he's joking. He hopes we don't get an announcement about Vick's Vapo-Rub, which is an American product for congestion relief whose name sounds like "vapor ware", hence the jokes.

It would be good to stay on topic and avoid subjects like Vapo-Rub and Duke Nukem, which simply confuse the issue, particularly in a community that spans all age groups and nationalities. wink
