I showed Liberty Basic to my friend. He really like it and uses it. I also wrote an essay for an Essay Course. I compared Qbasic to Liberty Basic

As many know I have been an ardent supporter of both LB and JB for a number of years, although being of a fairly advanced age I am not too knowledgeable in the more complex areas such as the use of API or converting VB code for use with LB. I have over the years contributed a number of articles to the original LB and JB News Letters by way of demo programs.

My problem is for over 25 years, I have experimented with a variety of BASICs from the days before even Windows was first introduced, so I cannot claim my site is dedicated exclusively to LB or even JB. Other Basics also capable of still operating under modern versions of Window may have a greater variety of functions compared with LB, so that LB needs to resort to the use of API to replicate such functions. However I would be prepared to state anytime in my opinion with the popularity and widespread use of the many familiar Windows boxes, buttons and pull down menus, LB is by far the easiest to use to activate such important functions.

For example one particular Basic I use needs almost a whole page of code to create the two scroll bars that activate automatically with a LB Window, which of course need one a tiny parameter ( nsb ) to deactivate such with LB. However I will try to think of a way to create an article on this somewhere.

Gordon, are you saying that you want the "team" title? You've already earned it many times over. Say the word and we'll add you to the team.

I have a web page, and I even put up a tutorial for Liberty Basic, but alas I'm about to jump ship on Liberty Basic. I registered Liberty Basic last Friday and still yet to receive the registration code. I e-mailed the address on the web page and heard nothing from them. Yet, more and more often when I run a program I keep seeing the nag screen to ask me to buy the program I allready bought. I'm thinking of sticking with my compilers I allready bought that works.

John, I understand your frustration. This happens from time to time and it is usually the result of emails being bounced or encountering spam filters. I've emailed Carl about your problem. You ought to hear from him soon. Be sure to check your spam folder.

Carl is dedicated to his product and his users, so hang in for a just a little bit and it will be sorted out.

Have you considered the very outdated method of sending the payment through conventional postal mail as a written check, send to the street address of Shoptalk Systems?

Got it today! Thanks guys, now if I can get past all the frustration of work to finish the projects I was wanting to do for my tutorials.... I've got a program that some find interesting in a way (would love to have it use turtle graphics to actually draw the triangle, but am running into a few minor obsticals there.... Can have that fixed as soon as I make a few minor changes to the tutorial... What I'm doing is I ask for 1 angle and the length of 1 side. From that, I then calculate the other 2 angles and the other lenghts of the sides of the triangle. I then got to thinking that for kicks, why not add the perimiter and area of the triangle to the print-out. Ideally, I'd like to show a window with the triangle drawn, of course it might also help if I'd give it easier triangles to draw... I did one killer triangle to put my program through the test... You know it had 2 angles of 1.5 degrees and a side of 25 inches with a really wide angle of 177 degrees.... Picture drawing that in Turtle Graphics.... So Teenie Tiny of an incline that the net result would pretty much be just 1 line being drawn!

As some may have already noticed I posted a number of suggestions on publicising LB under Announcements, Software & Websites as Publicising your Programs, regarding offering your programs as Freeware of Shareware, ensuring LB s clearly mentioned on the opening screen.

I am happy to do a full article in this subject, but perhaps if someone considers it a good idea they could kindly suggest where and how to publish such information
