Hi,
I have a new and , hell, weird request which seems to me almost unsolvable yet important.
Sometimes ago I assembled a code in html/javascript which allowed me to make a good looking crossword game. The code is messy and very tailored allowing to fill a row as well a single cell. For this I had to tell JS which cell and which definition to alter. Not a big thing but very tedious and time consuming.
I have written two grids and I had had it.
Now I want to have Liberty Basic do the whole creation process by itself with random parameters, pattern, in order to built a crossword at will. I spent a few hours on it and I got half way. The programm draw the grid in html/css and JS but I can't find how to get automatically the number of crossed definition for each cell.
Shall I post the code here ?
Beware, it's messy and I guess it's hard to swallow.
Thanks

Where do you wish this program to display and interact with the user? If online you would be better discussing on the Run BASIC forum. If on a PC you need to start experimenting with Liberty BASIC GUI controls.

So what is your target environment?

If it is html its aimed to the web but its a training for now.
I ve even found a solution to hold definitions in a cookie.
Its not very efficient yet but I wont release the lead smiley
i love comics and -thank heaven- Ive been offered a full collection.
Theres often a crossword in those pages and I tried and endeavor to play on my laptop screen but if I could get my code to generate grids it would be far easier. Yeah, to the web mister!

Well unfortunately grid is one of the tools missing from Liberty BASIC. You can roll your own, there are examples posted, but they are specifically PC and GUI, not HTML or web based. Perhaps ask the question again on the Run BASIC forum.

I succeeded in gathering the right pair together. Whether you think it should be a good step I would agree with you.
I had it done with arrays and loops.
My grid generator is almost done. The next thing would be gathering every definitions in case of a whole row soltution but it should be easier now that I know how to gather a pair. Then I'll have to handle the cookie the way I need but it's the best part.
Thank you anyway

If we had focused on a Liberty BASIC code solution for building the initial puzzle you might have got a better response from the community.

All the talk of HTML and JAVA Script deflects from what might have been an interesting project.

Hope you succeed, if you need any help with Liberty Code just holler.
