Forum rules:

• This forum exists for the promotion and discussion of the Liberty BASIC language. Other programming languages may not be promoted here.
• No in-depth discussion of other programming languages is allowed. Other languages may be mentioned when discussing code to be converted or tools that can be adapted.
• No spamming. Members who post ads, chain letters, and similar stuff will be banned immediately.
• Conforums TOS requires members to be at least 13. Members who include ages younger than that in their messages or in their profiles will be removed. This is a Conforums rule, not our rule.
• Conforums TOS requires members aged 13-18 to have parental permission. This is a Conforums rule, not our rule.
• Young persons should not refer to their ages or other identifiying information. This is for their safety and privacy.
• No bad language.
• No personal attacks will be allowed.
• No flames. Discussions and disagreements must be carried out politely.
• No banners or other images are allowed in signatures. Some people find that forum pages are slow to load on dialup connections. Images cause even slower load times.
• No discussion of illegal activities. This includes pirated software, warez, cracks and decompiling of software. No links to sites that promote or condone illegal or unethical activity are allowed in messages or in member profiles.
• No public discussion of registry modification. Use the forum's private messaging system to answer questions that require registry manipulation.
• We pay for the forum service according to the number of page views. Some off-topic chatting is fine, but please avoid long or frequent off-topic threads.
• Do not remove your messages unless you have a very good reason. Threads become useless when some of the messages are gone.
• Do not post harmful code.
• Do not post VBScript. Scripting code is frowned upon.
• Messages that do not comply with the rules of this forum, and messages that are not in line with the spirit and goal of the forum, are subject to editing or removal by the administrators and moderators.
• Members who do not conform to the rules of this forum will be removed.
• Members who do not comply with the spirit of consideration and helpfulness embodied by this forum will be removed.
• Messages found to be disruptive, off-topic, or against the TOS and spirit of our forum are subject to editing or deletion at the discretion the forum staff.
• Posting on the boards here implies acceptance of these terms.

Here are some guidelines for using this forum. These are suggestions, not rules.

• Please enclose code in
{Your code goes here}
tags. You can paste code tags into your message by hitting the # button in the message composition window.
• Please use descriptive subjects for your messages. "Please Help!" and "I'm going to jump off a building" are not useful or appropriate.
• Please avoid silly usernames, like "Syrup Please."
• Please sign your messages, using at least your first name, initials, or something similar. This is a technical discussion forum, not a fan, gaming, or chat forum, so actual names are preferred.
• Use the LB Downloads File Depot for ongoing projects, so that you can upload files, and delete or edit them yourself.
• Use the FTP site to upload/download files to share programs and code. Place files inside of a zip when uploading.
• Use the forum's "search" feature. Be sure to set a large number of days before you hit the search button. The default is only 7 days.
• Read the newsletters. They are full of code and information. Use the newsletter index and contents lists to search for topics. There is a link in the forum link box.
• Download the newsletter archives, rather than reading them online, so that you get all of the associated files. Don't forget to download the index and contents list as well. To save the index or contents list, choose "Save As" in your browser when they are displayed.
• Leave feedback on the newsletter board. Let the authors and publishers know that you read the newsletters. If there is no feedback, the newsletters may cease to exist.
• Don't copy newsletter articles or code to the forum. Instead, post links to the online articles.
• Read the Liberty BASIC Programmer's Encyclopedia and submit articles. There is a link in the forum link box.
• Thank those who help you.
• Use private messaging. It is sometimes better to deal with sensitive matters privately, rather than posting on the public boards.

We cannot control the behavior or thoughts of others. We CAN treat others with consideration, respect, and a helpful, kind spirit.

We've had a recent influx of new members, so it's time to dust these off and review them.

Please review the guidelines of our forum. They exist so that we can provide a pleasant, useful community resource for Liberty BASIC Programmers.

Thanks very much!
