xx Conflict with Libre Office?
« Thread started on: Nov 21st, 2017, 1:56pm »

Let me try again.

I recently installed Libre Office, a free office suite that works well.

But today, working in Liberty Basic 4.5.1, I found that clicking on the help icon brings up Libre Office with a message box:

"Document file LibertyBasic_4.html is locked for editing by yourself in a different system since "
[nothing follows the word 'since']

If I choose "Open for read only" or "Ignore own file-locking and open the document for editing", I get this message:

"This page uses frames but your browser does not support them"

Any suggestions?

Deleted redundant post.

I don't use LibreOffice, so I don't know for sure off the bat, but it sounds like it's taken the file association for HTML files. Those should probably be associated with your web browser. (IIRC, Microsoft Word sometimes does the same thing upon install.)

*.htm and *.html are usually opened by whatever internet browser you choose to use. I recommend setting those back to your browser. You can use the Windows Control Panel/Settings App to change your browser choice, and verify the assignment for those files. Additionally, you may have an option in your browser's options/settings to have it take control of those files.

You are right again, as usual.
I learned something about program defaults today.
Thanks a lot
