I have not seen any news on how development is going and being the the eager beaver I am I thought I'd post a thread to see if we can get some info...smiley

PS
After a few months of studying LB and reading your book, the online Encyclopedia, web site material and help from some great people I am now starting to get a basic understanding of this language. It has been hard to strip my mind from VB6 but I have now done it...smiley I am now another follower of yours. grin

It seems to me that LB future is dead.
I keep hearing things like "It's Almost Ready", etc.
But let's face it, that was a Long Time Ago.
I LOVED my time spent with LB but it seems that most things written today have to run on either an I-phone or Android phone.
And, although my lips burn when I utter this word, JAVA seems to be in the lime light.
Personally, I'll keep using LB because it's been an old friend through the years and does what I need it to do on a Win PC.
And I'm one of those old fools that tend to stick with folks that have been loyal and helpful.
It would be great if Carl could create something that would magically change LB code into something that would run on Android phones but....It would also be great if my chickens would lay gold eggssmiley

Java is certainly the way to go if you're looking to do Android development. The majority of my time is spent programming in Swift for iOS and Mac development. I still enjoy using LB on my Windows rig for prototyping, but I'm usually on a mac too much these days to use it.

As far as I know, LB is a side project for Carl, not his full time living, so I understand the lack of frequent updates. I am nearing the release of my own app for Mac, a Wordpad-like word processor, since the Wordpad equivalent that Macs come with by default, TextEdit, has significant problems. It has been in development for nearly a year now, and will likely be several months before I can release it, so I understand the timeline for quality software development far better than I ever did before.

I recently created a compiler in Swift that took code for a programming language designed by my professor and generated the appropriate Python code for running it. That's been a dream of mine for the last seven years, every since I began work on an interpreter in LB a long time ago.

Who knows, maybe I'll make a programming language someday that caters to hobbyists! In the meantime, I'm still rather pleased with LB for my prototyping needs. Not to mention, the community here is wonderful.

Run basic is cross platform as long as you have a modern web browser.

It works well and allows for me to use my programs on windows, linux, android, iphone, ect.

You can employ javascript amd css to do things.

If you would like to stay with basic, have you looked at RFO BASIC for Android.

The obvious question from post #6, will Liberty BASIC be developed for Android?
