xx Authorization problems
« Thread started on: Nov 18th, 2017, 09:36am »

I am trying to create an installer for my lb program with Inno Setup and I have a problem executing the program and it is that I get the message FileSystemAccessDenied.
If I run it as an administrator it works. Any suggestions?
Tanks.

Permissions for sure. What is the path you are installing it into? What OS?

It makes me wonder. I have not played with install makers for a long time. What must we know when using the install maker programs to make installers for a Liberty Basic program? Can we safely just choose to make the installer use a Default installation path choice? Would the user simply be able to choose, "Run as Administrator" for running the installer?

Did you follow the Inno Setup advice and use the suggested defaults? The point is you don't know where it is going to be setup. Inno will choose the safest directories.

Perhaps your questions have been answered on the Inno Setup support newsgroup?

Thanks for your help. At the moment I solved the problem by adding NOMAINWIN to my program.

I'm working with windows 10 and it's very easy to get an impeccable standard installation just by following the Inno Setup wizard.

It is free and allows a very advanced customization if you want the user to use the standard installation system for your LB application.
Greetings.

Unless your application requires the main window I would always suggest the "NOMAINWIN" option for software that you are preparing to deploy. Having the main window open would lend an air of unprofessionalism to the final product.

Definitely. I just tried the tool to see how it worked. You all, I discovered that the problem was not that, but that I was installing in the windows standard folder for applications and that folder is write protected. The final solution has been to install in a different folder.
Thanks for the help.
