exclamation Purpose of Announcements Board. Please Read.
« Thread started on: Apr 9th, 2007, 05:02am »

This board is for announcements of your websites and programs that are made with Liberty BASIC or for Liberty BASIC.

It is not for in-depth discussion community sofware and websites. We've been getting a lot of that in the past few months, and I've posted this caveat over and over.

We love hearing about community projects, programs and websites. Please do make announcements about them here! Please do not announce each tiny change in a program. Use this board for major announcements, such as the first release of a program or a major update.

If there is a need for discussion of your website or program that is not asking for help in Liberty BASIC coding, consider setting up your own message board. If you have a website with CPanel such as http://banpronet.net/ you'll find that it is incredibly easy to set up a message board, help desk, or other discussion area.

If you don't have access to your own server in this way, you can use one of the many message board services. We use Conforums here, but Proboards and others are similar. It's very easy to set up a forum and it is free with ads, or you can pay to have it ad-free. You can customize the looks of these free boards to match your website, too.

Also, be sure to add a link to your website on the wiki links page. There are categories for LB-help sites, community software sites, fan sites and forums. Add yours today!

If you aren't a member of the wiki, click the JOIN link. It's very easy to join and an organizer will approve your membership right away and you can start adding content.

It is frustrating to me, as I'm sure it is to many of you, that we cannot reply to announcements. I'm changing the permissions back so that members can reply to announcements.

If threads go off-track into in-depth discussions of alternate software and websites, they'll be locked.

Please read the first post in this topic before posting announcements. If you want folks to comment on your software, be sure to include a link to your own forum. wink
